Would be nice for unit price bids to do something similar to Alternates. There would be a WBS code for the Unit Price itself built into the system. Description. Quantity and Unit. A Unit price summary would look like the alternates summary with an added row that states the unit price rounded off to the penny and the grad total calculated as takeoff qty x rounded unit price. Further feature would be for the unit price to be overwritten and a new bid total calculated...and the spread amount able to be spread over the items in the estimate that made up the unit price item.
Charge us for the unit price "feature" to be turned on in our system, since a lot of fold wouldn't use it.
Right now we use a WBS code and run a report exported to excel to do all of the above work. Doesn't allow time to take bids and enter them into the estimating system close to bid time. Alot of manual excel work to get the rounding and decimals correct so the bid total is accurate.
