Alternates in 18.12 are cool. v 1.0 in 18.11 math was a challenge, not worth using. v2.0 in 18.12 the math works but even more cool would be an alternates summary page that is a bit more interactive and complete. I think we need a column that shows the addons rate. I think we should see the addons whether or not they are clicked as allocatable or not on the estimate totals page. I think we should see the alternate description not just the WBS Code vale for Alternate. I also think we should get a calculation based on the alternates takeoff over line quantity and unit description. I think we should be able to print that page (without exporting it to Excel). And I think we should consider that an alternate addon rate may be different than the so called base bid addons. Wouldn't we assume that everything in an estimate that isn't marked as an alternate be a part of the base bid? And what about deductive alternates...does the items comprising that alternate need to be included in the base bid and also be replicated in the spreadsheet a second time as a deduct figure for the summary page to work?

There needs to be a way to have “Base Bid” items in an estimate when using alternates. When including or excluding alternates, the “Base Bid” value should not change. All of the Totals/Markups that change because an alternate is included or excluded need to be allocated to that Alternate, ie: the “Base Bid” should not change. The percentage based addons seems to work like this, but the addons that utilize a table rate change the base bid when an alternate is included or excluded.
Thank you for your submission, we have added it to our backlog and will prioritize accordingly.
