We are a paving contractor and because Sage does not track or report quantities we have to run separate spreadsheets to track our material quanties.

  Your idea and many others could be solved if Sage would make job cost records for individual parts, instead of grouping job cost records by cost code. If job cost records included individual parts, your suggestion, as well as all of these suggestions could be solved:
